Step 1
Create or find the widgets that you want to add to your email signature. You can browse through existing applications or use a web builder program to make your own widgets. For example, Yahoo Widgets allows you to both find user-provided widgets as well as create your own with Konfabulator software.
-
Step 2
Receive the code after you have found widgets that you want to use as part of your email signature. Once you download widgets, you can request the source code to add the widgets to your email program. After downloading, you will see an option to "Get Widget Code" before placement. Highlight and copy all of the text of this code.
-
Step 3
Open your email program. Your email program must have the ability to support Flash or Java applications; otherwise the widgets will not work when you attempt to add them to your email signature.
-
Step 4
Go to the Options menu within your email program. Open the signature menu to add widgets to the email program. You will be redirected to a blank text document.
-
Step 5
Paste the widget code that you want to use. After you are finished, select the Save option to apply the changes to your email signature. You will then want to compose an email message to test whether the widget was successfully added. Send the message to a friend or another one of your email accounts to see if it worked.
