How to Disable Keylogger

Keylogger is a type of computer software application that records the keystrokes of anyone who uses the computer. Everything that is typed on the computer's keyboard is recorded and saved. Keylogger programs are popular with suspicious spouses and employers who are concerned about employees using office computers for personal use. It only takes a few simple steps to disable keylogger software.

Instructions

1. Download a program designed to disable keylogger software. Examples include software like Keylogger Stopper and Keylogger Hunter (see Resources).

2. Install the downloaded software. Follow the prompts to complete installation. You can now type on your computer and your keystrokes will no longer be recorded. The keylogger output report will appear blank.

3. Cover your tracks. Reactivate the keylogger software to record your benign, acceptable keystrokes (such as work-related items, or emails to people your spouse approves of).

4. Always activate the keylogger blocker software before you turn off the computer. This way, if the person who installed the keylogger software tests the program, it will record their keystrokes.
