How to Use Nix As a Treatment for Scabies

Scabies are mites that burrow under your skin. They cause severe itching that may be worse at night. You get them from direct contact with someone who is infected. They typically appear in certain places on your body such as your armpits, around your waist or breasts, between your fingers or toes, around your buttocks, around your ankles of the soles of your feet or on your genitals. They can live for up to 36 hours without a host.

    • 3

Treat family members with Nix and bathe all pets.

    • 4

Wash all of your clothing, bedding, combs, brushes and other personal items in hot water with a very strong detergent.

    • 5

Vacuum frequently and thoroughly until you are sure that the scabies are gone.

    • 6

Inform anyone with whom you have been in contact so they can also be treated if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid intimacy with anyone until the scabies are gone.

  • Do not use more Nix than directed and do not apply to open sores, as this could be dangerous. If you experience an allergic reaction to Nix, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, tongue, face or throat, seek immediate medical assistance.
