Crayons in the car on a hot summer day spell out a huge mess. When crayons melt they can get everywhere leaving a multicolored mess of a stain that hardens and seems impossible to remove. Cleaning melted crayon out of your car isn't impossible, it isn't fun, but it certainly isn't impossible. If rogue Crayolas are causing problems in your car, there is a simple solution. Follow these steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Butter knife
  • Paper towel
  • WD-40
  • Coarse brush
  1. Step 1

    Scrape away the melted crayon with a dull edge, such as a butter knife.

  2. Step 2

    Vacuum up the pieces of crayon with a vacuum cleaner attachment.

  3. Step 3

    Spray the stain with WD-40 and allow it to sit for at least five minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Scrub the area with a coarse bristle brush.

  5. Step 5

    Wipe the area with a damp paper towel to remove any residue. Repeat if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use dishwashing soap on a clean damp cloth to get rid of any stain that the WD-40 leaves behind.
