Step 1
Comb all of your hair straight down around your head. You can part your hair with a 2-inch part on either side of your head or in the middle. This is your choice and it doesn't change the technique of wrapping it at all. The purpose of the part in the hair is just to personalize your hair wrap. Once all of your hair is combed straight down, you are ready to begin.
-
Step 2
Start with the side where you made the 2-inch part. Use a wide tooth comb and start smoothing your hair in a clockwise motion. Take the hair closest to the part and keep going around with it in a circular motion while smoothing it to your head.
-
Step 3
Pull the hair in the back up into the beehive as well, but keep all of the hair going around in the same clockwise motion. Continue to wrap your hair around your head until it is all contained within a nice tight beehive. You can use hair clips to keep the hair in place.
-
Step 4
Tie a silk scarf around your head to hold the hair in place. Keep your wrapped in the scarf for a few hours or if you choose, you can keep it tied up over night. When you remove the scarf, comb your hair down in the same clockwise motion in which you wrapped it. Your hair should have volume and a nice bounce to it. Style as desired.

on 9/13/2009 Hi, this us what I'm looking for: my grandmother use to wrap her hair with the cut legs from pantyhose, she would cut them into strip such as you might see on a craft set that kids use to make potholders with; I'm looking for someone who has an idea of what the method is and how I do it to archive a corkscrew curl or something close to that
thanks so much
