Making Origami Shoes
-
1
With the shiny side up, fold the paper in half. Make sure you crease the paper well, as this will help to hold your folds better. Now unfold your paper.
-
2
Lay your paper flat again (shiny side up). Fold one side so that it meets the crease of the fold you just made. Turn the paper around and repeat.
-
-
3
Unfold the folds you just made, and turn the paper over so the colored side is facing up.
-
4
You'll have created mountain folds. These look like small mountains when the paper is laying on a flat surface. You'll take one mountain fold and fold it in toward the center crease. Repeat on the other side.
-
5
Make the toe of your shoe. Take one corner and fold it toward the center. Do this with the other side. After you have completed the toe, take one small section of the toe fold and bend it back to make a flap.
-
6
Turn the paper over (shiny side up). Fold the flaps in toward the center crease (both sides). You'll have what looks like an upward arrow. Fold the flat bottom part of the shoe upward (about 1 1/2 inch). Crease the paper well so that the heel will stay.
-
7
Turn your paper over and fold one side of the bottom end over to make a right angle. Unfold the paper, and do the same for the other side.
-
8
After the folds are created, you will have a crisscross pattern on the bottom of your shoe. This should collapse into itself. Take one flap and fold it three times. Do this with the other side. This will make your heel.
-
9
Start shaping the shoe. You are going to open the shoe up and insert your thumb. Start creating the shape of your shoe. Then, bend the heel out, so that your shoe can stand. Now you have made a high heel origami shoe.

Tips & Warnings
If you can't find foil-backed origami paper, you can glue foil to the back of regular origami paper and allow it to dry for 24 hours. The foil is important to hold the shoe together. If you are making a pair of shoes, make them at the same time so it's easier to make sure they are the same length.
