How to Crochet a Bow Tie for a Teddy Bear

Dressing up your teddy bear can go a long way towards giving personality to even the plainest teddy. You can make a classy bow tie with little time and even less effort.

Things You'll Need

• Yarn
• Crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Teddy bear

Instructions

1. Crochet a rectangle that measures about 6 by 5 inches.

2. Fold it in half top to bottom and sew around the three open edges. You will now have a double-thick rectangle measuring 3 by 5 inches.

3. Crochet a strip about 3/4 inch by 3 inches. Wrap it somewhat tightly around the center of your rectangle. Overlap the ends and sew them together at the back.

4. Crochet another strip about 1 1/2 inches wide and long enough to go around your bear's neck with about an extra inch to spare.

5. Attach the "bow" to the center of the neckband with a few stitches. Fasten at the back of the neckband with Velcro, sew-on snaps or other type of fastener.
