If you're beginning a new exercise routine, one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to keep track of your daily progress is to download a free exercise chart. Free exercise charts allow you to record the time and date of your workout, as well as the type of training you did. The charts are easy to download and print for use at home or at the gym. Whether you're doing cardio workouts, weight training or yoga, tracking your exercise habits can make it easier for you to stay on track and meet your fitness goals.

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Word processing software
  • Software to open PDF files
  • Printer (optional)
  1. Step 1

Download the free exercise charts off of the Exercise Goals website (see Resources section below). The chart is geared for people using weight training as a form of exercise. Use the exercise chart to keep track of the repetitions and sets of weight lifting exercises you do.

  2. Step 2

Create a free account on the website Spark People (see Resources). Spark People contains charts that help you keep track of your daily exercise, weight and daily calorie intake. Spark People also has helpful exercise- and nutrition-related articles, as well as message boards and forums related to exercise and weight loss.

  3. Step 3

Download the exercise chart from the Moses Fitness website. The exercise chart lists specific exercises for the legs, abs, chest, back, shoulders and triceps. Check the box after you have completed an exercise.

  4. Step 4

Visit the Answer Fitness website and download the free exercise and training logs. Keep track of the date and time of your workout, the type of exercise you did, and how many reps you completed. There is also a section that allows you to rate the quality of your workout as well as space for additional comments.

Tips & Warnings
  • Print out the exercise charts and bring them with you to the gym. If you exercise at home, post the chart in an area that is easily accessible. Keep all completed exercise charts in a three ring binder for easy access.
