1
Clean the whole vehicle before you consider waxing. The entire car must be clean because any residue will show up in the wax. To clean, just fill a bucket with car wash soap and warm water. Never use any other cleaning solution besides one suitable for your car. Use a mitt to get a thorough clean.

2
Apply masking tape to the cracks and crevices on the body of the car. This will keep wax out of those areas. If any wax seeps into creased areas, it can be difficult to clean.

3
Apply wax to one section at a time. Only a small amount of wax is needed, overdoing it will make it foggy or create a mess. Your car should be dry, cool and preferably in a shaded area when applying wax.

4
Take the buffer and use the buffer pad to spread the wax around a bit, before turning the buffer on. This will prevent wax from splattering, and it will ensure a fairly even application.

5
Turn the buffer on and slowly allow it to smooth the area of the car you are working on. The buffer should do most of the work; you should only be gripping it firmly. Do not bear down on the buffer because too much weight will damage your vehicle. Repeat this process from Step 4 on each section of the vehicle.

6
Let the wax dry to a slightly opaque haze and begin wax removal. To do this, just apply the wax removal cloth to the buffer and use long downward strokes to remove the wax. Do not bear down with your weight. Move in circles. Make lengthy strokes in one direction only.
