Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic headband
  • 18 inches of 3/8-inch wide grosgrain ribbon (4 different complementary colors)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  1. Step 1

Glue ribbons 1 and 2 onto the top of the headband as shown beginning at one end of the headband. Ribbon 2 should be glued underneath ribbon 1. Make sure that all of the edges of the ribbon are securely glued.

  2. Step 2

Glue ribbons 3 and 4 onto the bottom of the headband as shown directly underneath the ribbons glued in step 1. Ribbon 4 should be glued underneath ribbon 3. Make sure that all of the edges of the ribbon are securely glued.

  3. Step 3

Wrap ribbons 1 and 2 around to the backside of the headband. Bring ribbons 3 and 4 around to the top of the headband. Now you will have ribbons 1 and 2 underneath the headband and ribbons 3 and 4 on the top of the headband.

  4. Step 4

Wrap ribbons 3 and 4 around to the backside of the headband. Bring ribbons 1 and 2 around to the top of the headband. Now you will have ribbons 3 and 4 underneath the headband and ribbons 1 and 2 on the top of the headband.

  5. Step 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 to weave the ribbons around the entire length of the plastic headband. Push the ribbons back along the headband to the starting point and make sure they are neat and tightly woven.

  6. Step 6

Trim the excess ribbons when you reach the end of the plastic headband. Securely glue all of the edges of the ribbon on both the top and the bottom of the headband to finish the woven headband.
