How to Draw a Fishing Boat

A fishing boat can be fun to draw for a party invitation for an afternoon at the lake. Or if you're having a kid's birthday party, you could have a "go fish" station, with fishing boats and water painted on a big piece of cardboard.

Instructions

    • 1

Rough out the basic shape of the hull of your fishing boat. On this boat, the bow (front of the ship) is much taller than the stern (back of the ship). The bow leans out at an angle to the left. The bow is a point, while the stern is rounded.

    • 2

Sketch in a small cabin near the bow of the ship. Sketch in a mast and rigging in the back. Add in details like windows and stripes on the hull of your fishing boat.

    • 3

Trace over the lines you want with a waterproof pen. Using waterproof ink means that when you use markers or paints to color in your boat, the black ink won't run and get smeary.

    • 4

Once your ink is completely dry, carefully erase the pencil. Be careful not to wrinkle the paper. Use a tissue or paper towel to brush off your eraser shavings, so you don't get the oil of your fingers on your drawing.

    • 5

Color in your fishing boat in any colors you want. This boat is painted in red, yellow, and white on its hull. The cabin is white and the deck is black. Color in the water and sky.
