1
Lay the scarf flat. Place the scarf with the top side down and smooth out any wrinkles with your hands. If your scarf is incredibly wrinkled from being smashed in a winter storage box, press it flat and use a fabric steamer to iron out any creases.
-
2
Drape and adjust the scarf. Keep the front side of the scarf facing outward and drape the scarf around the back of your neck. The two front edges should hang down in front of you, also with the front sides facing outward. Gently pull one side so it is about 1/3 longer than the other side while hanging in front of you.

Make the knot. Flatten the shorter edge against your chest. Loop the longer edge underneath the top of the shorter edge near your neck. Pull the longer edge up and over the shorter edge so both edges are lying flat against your chest with a loose knot at your neck.

4
Tuck and adjust. Take the longer edge of the scarf and wrap it loosely around your neck, tucking it under and above the loose drape at the back of your neck. You should be left with a loose, stylish knot and a single edge in front of you, with a warm, cozy cowl around your neck.
