How to Recycle Greeting Cards

It always seems such a pity to throw away the gorgeous greeting cards you have received for any holiday or special occasion. Instead of just dumping them in the trash, recycle those greeting cards. You can easily make beautiful new cards using the fronts of old ones.

Things You'll Need

  • Regular and decorative scissors
  • 8.5-by-11 inch white card stock
  • Paper cutter
  • Glue stick or tape
  • Marker or pen

Instructions

      Cut off the front of the old greeting cards using decorative scissors. If you prefer, you can also cut out only one part of the greeting card front, such as a person, animal or object using regular scissors.

      Cut the card stock in half using a paper cutter so that each piece measures 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches.

      Fold each piece of card stock in half vertically to make cards that measure 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches.

      Use a glue stick or tape runner to adhere the old greeting card front or embellishment to the front of the blank card.

      Write a greeting inside the card using a marker or journal pen.
