It's quite simple to achieve soft, lovely curls via a variety of different natural means. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
Foam Rollers
-
1
Apply styling gel to your wet hair. This will help your straight hair to hold curl better. Choose a styling gel that is appropriate for your particular hair type.
-
2
Section your wet hair into 1 to 2-inch sections and roll each section into a foam roller.
-
-
3
Leave the rollers in your hair for several hours. Many people wear them overnight for best effects. The curl will set well as your hair dries.
-
4
Remove the foam rollers and comb out your dry hair, using a wide-toothed comb to create soft curls.
Hot Rollers
-
5
Dry your hair completely. Your hair must be totally dry before using heated curling devices on it. Let it air dry fully or use a hair dryer to dry it.
-
6
Allow the hot rollers to heat up sufficiently before rolling your hair in them.
-
7
Apply rollers to 1 to 2-inch sections of hair.
-
8
Leave the hot rollers in your hair for 10 to 30 minutes before removing them. The rollers should be cool to the touch when you remove them.
Curling Iron
-
9
Let your hair completely air dry or use a blow dryer to dry it. Before using a curling iron, your hair must be fully dry.
-
10
Plug the iron in and let it thoroughly heat before using it. Curling irons that are smaller in diameter will produce tighter curls.
-
11
Separate your hair into small sections and gently curl each section using the curling iron.
-
12
Hold the section in place on the curling iron for 10 to 20 seconds before releasing it.

Tips & Warnings
Spritz your hair with hairspray to hold your curls. Since your hair is naturally straight, it likely needs a little help to hold curl. A light misting of hair spray will prevent your curls from falling too early.
Be careful when handling heated curling appliances. If you're not careful, you could burn yourself. Avoid used heated appliances on your hair too frequently. Doing so can lead to damage.
