Step 1
As I was growing up I would get terrible headaches. Most of the time I had no idea why I had a migraine headache.Eye strain was the main cause from not wearing glasses. It is important that you get your eyes check regularly and wear the proper prescription of glasses.

Step 2
I have found that if you have a migraine try and lay in a dark room with a cold compress over your eyes.If you take any medication make sure it is not loaded with caffeine which will help the headache but also will keep you awake at night. If you are outside make sure to wear sunglasses to help cut the glare.Migraine can also cause your stomach to be upset so try and take something to settle down your stomach. There are tons of advise for migraine but the dark room and cold compress worked the best for me.If it is during the day try a ibuprofen or Advil with a coke or coffee this has worked for me.

Step 3
With tension headaches try and calm down and figure out what is causing the tension headache.Stress in the shoulder and neck area can cause a tension headache.Make sure if you work at a computer all day that you are level with the monitor so you are not placing allot of strain on your neck.Relax and listen to some soft music and try and relax. You can also have someone message your neck and shoulders to help relax the muscles in your neck and shoulders.Tension headaches are the most common headaches in adults so we need to slow down and relax.

on 4/22/2009 Laying down with a damp wash cloth over my eyes and forehead helps. I even put ice inside the wash cloth sometimes. Migraine's are awful, they knock me off my feet when I get them.
