How to Get Rid of Stinky Feet

Get rid of foot odor.

Foot odor is no laughing matter. It can be really embarrassing when you take off your shoes and the stench is so bad you can almost see the fumes rising from your feet. Thankfully, you can take control and rid your feet of their foul odor.

Things You'll Need

• Soap
• 1/2 cup kosher salt
• 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
• Antiperspirant or deodorant
• Socks
• Foot powder or talcum powder

Instructions

1. Keep your feet clean. Washing your feet helps get rid of the bacteria that cause the odor. To avoid drying out your feet, apply a lotion to your feet after washing them.

2. Soak your feet in a quart of water with 1/2 cup of kosher salt and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice for about 15 minutes. When you are done with the soak there is no need to rinse your feet, just be sure to dry them well.

3. Rub deodorant or anti-perspirant on your feet. The same bacteria that cause body odor cause foot odor, so the same products will work to control it.

4. Change your socks twice a day and make sure you don't wear the same pair of shoes every day. Wash you shoes, if possible, to eliminate the odor.

5. Sprinkle foot powder or talcum powder on your socks to help keep your feet dry, which will help eliminate the odor.
