How to Use Leftover Ham (A Delicious Dinner Recipe Idea)
When I was a child, my mother made the most delicious ham and potato casserole. When she served it, I could never get enough. As an adult, I have searched and searched for this recipe without luck. But recently, I found a very similar recipe in the 1931 edition of "The Joy of Cooking." I have updated the recipe for today's cooks, but it tastes as good as ever.

- potatoes
- onions
- flour
- olive oil cooking spray
- skim milk
- salt and pepper (to taste)

Preheat the ovenr to 350 degrees. Spray the sides and bottom of a casserole dish with a cooking spray, such as Pam.

Slice a potato (or two) and spread the slices over the bottom of the casserole dish. Add a layer of sliced or diced ham. Then add a layer of sliced onions. Add a little salt and pepper. Sprinkle with flour.

Repeat the layers: a layer of sliced potatoes, diced ham, and sliced onion. Sprinkle a little more flour over the top.

Pour skim milk 2/3 to ¾ of the way up the side of the casserole dish.

Cover the casserole dish with a lid or aluminum foil. Place the casserole in the 350-degree oven for 1.5 hours. Remove from casserole from the oven. Add salt and pepper to taste. Watch this meal disappear.
