How to Convert an MP3 to WMV


You can convert an MP3 file to WMV format using a number of free conversion programs. MP3, short for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, is a common audio format. WMV, or Windows Media Video, is a common video format. Since WMV is a video format, if you convert an MP3 file to WMV, there will only be audio. However, the file will still technically be a video file.

Things You'll Need

  • Any Video Converter
  • Download Any Video Converter from the link in the "Resources" section of this article.

  • Click the downloaded file with an .exe extension to begin the installation. Click "Next" to accept the terms of use, then click "Next" two more times. Any Video Converter will begin installing.

  • Place a check next to the "Launch Any Video Converter" option and click "Finish".

  • Select "File" in Any Video Converter. Select "Output Folder" and choose where you want to place your converted files. If you're not sure, select "Desktop" or "My Documents".

  • Select the pull-down menu next to "Profile". Choose "Customized WMV Movie".

  • Drag and drop the MP3 file you want to convert into the center window of the program.

  • Click "Convert".
