How to Create Discount Coupons
Discount coupons are a great way to market your business. They can be placed as ads in your local newspaper and penny savers or handed out to a select group of customers. You can customize coupons exactly how you want them. Offer a percentage off a specific item or a dollar amount off a certain purchase amount on your coupons and drive customers to your business. Here's how to create your own discount coupons.
Instructions

-
1
Open a blank document in Microsoft Paint.
-
2
Click on "Image" in the toolbar at the top of the page and select "Attributes" from the menu options available.
-
-
3
Change the size of the document to 3 inches wide by 2 inches high.
-
4
Select either the straight line tool or the curvy line tool from the toolbar on the left side of the page. Click and drag the line inside the blank document to draw a border around the outside edge of the coupon.
-
5
Click on the "A" in the left-side toolbar and type your discount amount in large bold letters inside the text box that appears. If your discount coupon is half price off of one item in your store, you would type "50% off" in this space.
-
6
Right-click inside the text box and select "Text Toolbar" from the options shown. A new toolbar will open with font options. Choose any font and then set the size to 24 points. You can also choose to bold, italicize or underline your text from this toolbar.
-
7
Select the "A" from the toolbar again and type the specific information about your discount coupon in the new text box. Let your customer know exactly what is part of the coupon discount. Explain if only one item is for sale or if the discount covers all of your merchandise. Add a disclaimer at the bottom that includes items not eligible with the coupon. Include an expiration date in bold letters below the disclaimer.
-
8
Print the discount coupons onto colored paper and cut them out using a paper cutter or decorative scissors.
