Draw Pooh Bear As a Baby

Winnie the Pooh is adorable, but Winnie the Pooh as a baby is flat-out cute. There seems to be something special about the characters from the 100-acre forest. They have such vivid personalities that people enjoy getting to know the characters as much as possible. That is part of the appeal of seeing these lovable animals as babies. Drawing Winnie the Pooh as a baby is much like drawing him as an adult. The main thing to concentrate on is making the head larger in proportion to the rest of the body. Also, shorten the limbs and make these a bit fatter and more awkward. Soon you will have a picture of the lovable baby Pooh on your wall.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a large oval for the head of baby Pooh. Add a smaller oval in the bottom half of the first oval to create the face section. Add a large oval for the body and belly. Add the arms with two perpendicular lines. Make the left-side arm point up and the right-side arm point toward the body. Add the legs with diagonal lines coming off the base of baby Pooh's body.

    • 2

Draw the ears with two ovals on the upper left and right side of the head. Add the eyes with two small circles at the top of the face oval. Add the nose just below the eyes with an upside-down triangle. Add the eyebrows with two curved lines just below the ears. Thicken the limbs by drawing parallel lines around the leg and arm guidelines. Make sure that the ends of these shapes are round.

    • 3

Draw the stick of honey in the left-side hand with a diagonal line. Add a small oval to the top of this line. Draw the mouth of baby Pooh with a half-circle shape just below the nose. Add the bib with a large "U" shape coming off the chin and extending over the belly. Add the shirt sleeves with a line at the top of each arm and a horizontal line across the upper section of the body.

    • 4

Draw the jar of honey with an oval shape for the opening and a larger oval just below this for the base of the jar. Connect these two shapes with curved vertical lines, one on each side. Erase any guidelines that you do not wish to keep. Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and erase your pencil strokes.

    • 5

Color the body, face, arms and legs of Pooh yellow. Add orange to the center of Pooh's face, under the arms, belly, chin and legs. Color the shirt red and the bib blue. Color the eyes, eyebrows and inner mouth black. Color the honey pot, stick and nose brown. Use yellow for the honey on the top rim of the jar and on the oval on the stick.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try posing baby Pooh with different baby items like toys or a bottle.

  • Place a sheet of paper under your illustration while you ink, and color it to make sure the ink doesn't bleed through.
