How to Wear Your Maxi Dress

The maxi dress from the 60's and 70's is back! Stars from Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie and Halle Berry love the maxi dress. It so versatile because it can dressed up or down. Sexy or casual. It can be worn to the grocery store or dinner with friends. But what you wear with your maxi dress is important. Here are ways to wear your maxi dress.

Things You'll Need

• maxi dress
• oversized purse
• shades
• sunhat
• cool costume jewerly
• flip flops
• wedge sandals
• wrap

Instructions

1. 

   Jewerly. You want to wear big hoops, lots of bracelets on one arm and perhaps a long necklace. You could even wear an ankle bracelet.

2. 

   Big Hats and Shades. Wear a big sun hat like Jennifer Lopez or Lindsay Lohan with a pair of huge celebrity shades. People may even wonder if you are a celebrity.

3. 

   If you don't want to wear a hat, another accessory for the head would be a long scarf tied around your head like a hair band tied under your hair at the back of the neck with the rest of the scarf hanging down your back. Or wear it like the girl in the picture to the left. This look with a pair of shades and hoops is a definite eye catcher.

4. 

   Shoes. The shoes you wear depend on the length of your dress. Some maxis are longer than others. I suggest when shopping for a maxi dress take a pair of flip flops and a pair of sandals with a heel or wedge. If the dress is three inches above the ankle wear a cute pair of flip flops or ballet shoes. For a longer maxi, wedges or sandals with a heel. You do not want the dress to drag to the ground. Plus you want to show your pretty pedicure.

   Purse. Carry an oversized purse. Huge straw totes or a huge leather hobo bag will complete your look with the maxi dress.

   Finished look.

• Decide what colors or prints you would like to have.

• Defintely get a black maxi dress. It can casual and sexy all at the same time.

• You can also wear a light shrug sweater with your maxi dress.

• Get a dress that is flattering to your size. You don't want the dress to swallow you up.
