1
Recycle scrap pieces of wrapping paper by putting them through your shredder. Place the shredded paper into the basket as filler. The different colors will make the basket even more attractive.
-
2
Purchase some art supplies to put in the basket such as watercolor paints, washable markers and coloring books.
-
-
3
Visit your local teacher's store and purchase some learning games for children of preschool age. Include flash cards, blocks and a CD or DVD.
-
4
Consider some of the preschooler's favorite characters or toys. Buy a small toy or a stuffed animal to include in the basket.
-
5
Buy a few Easter candy favorites. A chocolate bunny can be a good treat and makes a nice centerpiece for the basket.
-
6
Arrange your purchases in the Easter basket, on top of the shredded paper. Place larger items towards the back of the basket and continue filling the front of the basket with smaller items.
-
7
Place the basket in the center of a large square piece of cellophane wrap if you plan to use it. Fold up each side to meet at the top and gather the wrap together.
-
8
Tie a bow around the gathering of cellophane at the top of the basket. If you are not using the wrap, tie the bow around the basket handle or lay the bow on top of the goodies in the basket if it doesn't have a handle.

Tips & Warnings
Purchase your basket after you know how many things you want to fit in it. This way you won't buy one that is too large or too small. Don't make the basket impossible to get into. If you wrap it with cellophane keep the tie on the bow lose so the preschooler can get into the basket themselves.
Go easy on the candy. Treats are fine in moderation, but excess processed sugar can be unhealthy.
