How to Convert WAV File to MIDI
If you have some WAV files that you would like to convert to some multi-track MIDI files, there is software that can help you to do that. By converting a WAV file to a MIDI file, you will be able to see the notes that have been played, as well as the chord names, among other things. Create a new project. When you open the IntelliScore Ensemble WAV to MIDI Converter, you have to either create a new project or open an existing project. To convert your WAV file to a MIDI file, you should start a new project by selecting the blank document icon after opening IntelliScore Ensemble WAV to MIDI Converter. Or you could click the "File" menu and then select "New Project." This opens the New Project Wizard.

Select the WAV file. After you select that you want to do a new project, the New Project Wizard will open a new window for you to select an audio file. Select the WAV file that you want converted to MIDI. Click "Next" when done.

Select your instruments. You will be asked if you know what instruments make up the audio. Select that you do not know, unless you do. The converter will figure out the instruments for you if you select that you do not know. Click "Next" when done.

Assign a patch. Select the instrument you prefer. After selecting that you do not know the instruments, you are able to assign a patch. A drop-down menu will appear, and you can select your instrument of choice for the MIDI track. Click "Next" when done.

Name your file. Input the name that you want for your MIDI file. It will pre-populate with the same name as the WAV file. You can leave it or change it to something else. Click "Next" when done.

Begin the conversion. After naming your file, the "Begin Conversion" screen appears. If you are ready to convert your WAV to MIDI, just click "Finish" to begin the conversion. Otherwise, you can click "Back" or "Cancel." The conversion will begin, and you will get a pop-up message saying that it is complete when the conversion is finished.
