How to Make a Wooden Candy Dispenser With a Pint Mason Jar
There are all types of candy dispensers. Wooden ones can be very detailed. But if you do not know how to woodwork, you can still have a cool candy dispenser with a wooden base and a pint mason jar. You'll be making candy dispensers for everyone in no time. Note the photo shows the same candy dispenser with a steamer bowl, however, the process is the same with a shallow wooden bowl.
Things You'll Need
- Pint canning jar
- 2 pint rings
- Shallow wooden bowl
- Wood glue
- Glue gun and glue stick
- Measuring tape
- Hacksaw
- Sharpie marker

Tighten one ring onto the canning jar. Measure the circumference of the other ring. It should be 9 inches. Mark four evenly spaced, 1-inch squares on the side of the ring with the sharpie. These are the holes where the candy comes out and into the bowl.

Using the hacksaw, cut the marked squares out of the side of the ring, making sure you leave the top of the lid intact.

Using the wood glue, glue the jar and rings upside down in the middle of the shallow bowl.

When you want to fill the jar, unscrew the jar from the lids, fill the jar with candy, turn the shallow bowl over and screw the rings onto the jar. Turn back over and the candy will flow through the holes made in the bottom ring and into the shallow bowl.

Tips & Warnings
Paint designs on the outside of the jar. Think of other shallow objects for the bowl.
Be careful when using the hacksaw.
