How to Plug a Wii SD Card Into a Computer

Your Nintendo Wii is capable of playing files from your computer. You can remove the SD card from your Nintendo Wii and use it to load songs, movies and even other games for playback. It's easy to do, and it's another great feature that comes with your Nintendo Wii. Here is how to plug your Wii SD card into a computer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • SD card reader
  • USB cord
  • SD card
  1. Step 1

    Purchase a SD card reader from your local electronics store. They are fairly inexpensive and should cost less than $20.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the SD card from the back of the Wii. Push it in lightly, and the spring mechanism will pop out so that you can pull it out easily.

  3. Step 3

    Insert the SD card into the card reader.

  4. Step 4

    Plug the SD card reader into your USB port with a USB cable. This cable should be included with your SD card reader.

  5. Step 5

    Wait for the "Actions" prompt to pop up on your computer screen. It will list all the actions you can take with the files on the SD card.

  6. Step 6

    Select "View Files." A window will open with all the files available on the SD card.

  7. Step 7

    Open the location with the files you want to transfer. Drag them into the SD card window, and they will transfer automatically.
