Like all components of every vehicle, wiper blades need to be changed from time to time. To change wiper blades on your Ford, they first need to be removed. It is important to change your wiper blades to make sure you have proper visibility in weather and road conditions. Wipers will need to be changed after they have been used to the point of being worn down or torn.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Measure your current blades before you purchase the replacement blades. Blade sizes are determined based on the length on the wiper blade.

  2. Step 2

Lift the wiper blade arm from the windshield. Fell the arm lock into place so that the arm remains extended.

  3. Step 3

Move the actual blade so that it is perpendicular to the arm at a 90-degree angle. This will expose the lock pin or release tab for the blade. The model and year of your Ford will determine whether there is a lock pin or release tab.

  4. Step 4

Push the pin in on models that have a locking pin. This will release the blade. Slide the old blade off the arm.

  5. Step 5

Push the release tab on models that do not have a locking pin. This will release the blade from the arm loop. Slide the old blade off the arm.
