How to Make Ninja Throwing Knives Out of Paper
Using a paper ninja throwing knife is a lot safer and less expensive than obtaining the real thing. Paper ninja knives are also fairly simple to make if you have basic origami skills. Just remember that even though these knives are made out of paper, you still have to be careful when you throw them. Although paper is not a great material for weapons, paper cuts can still be brutal.
Things You'll Need
- Three sheets of standard printer paper (8 1/2" by 11")
- Scissors
- Invisible tape

1
Lay your paper in front of you with one of the 8½-inch sides closest to you, just like you would if you were going to feed it into the printer. Bring the top right corner over to the left so that the top edge of the paper perfectly lines up with the left edge. You will have an extra rectangle at the bottom below the triangle you just made. Trim it off with the scissors.

2
Bring the top left corner down to the right so that the left edge perfectly meets the bottom edge. Crease the paper tightly and then take this fold out. All you need is the crease to help you with step three.

3
Fold the bottom edge of the paper up so it perfectly aligns with the crease. Then fold the paper to the left again using the same crease line. You will have a cone-like shape with a tiny bit of extra paper on the left. Fold this extra paper in to the right so you have one perfect scalene triangle. (There will be two short but unequal sides and one very long side.) This will make half of your throwing knife's blade.

4
Complete all three steps again to make the second side of your knife. Use a new sheet of paper.
-
5
Place both triangles in front of you with the long side of each lined up exactly. Make sure the two shortest sides are on the top so the shape looks like a diamond. Stick the two halves of your blade together with invisible tape, such as Scotch tape.

6
Roll a new piece of paper lengthwise into a tight tube. Make the ends about ½-inch in diameter. Tape the seam so it doesn't unravel. Tape the middle of your blade to one end of the tube. It is the handle of your throwing knife. Decorate your knife any way you'd like.
