Making MP3 Ringtones for the Sprint Rumor

  1. Step 1

Choose the section of a song in your media player on your computer that you would like to make into a ringtone. Write down the starting and ending time of the clip you wish to use. The clip should be no longer than 30 seconds.

  2. Step 2

On most media players--like iTunes, RealPlayer or Windows Media Player--find the playback options on your song. These are under the "Edit" tab on your player. From the Edit tab, click "Info" and then "Options."
Enter the start time and end time into the playback and press "OK." This will produce the designated clip of the song right next to the original song in your library.

  3. Step 3

Convert the song to Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format. Once you have the clip of your song in your library, click on "Import Settings" under the Edit > Preferences menu on most players. Find the import setting and change the import format to AAC. You now have your ringtone clip in the proper format for your phone.

  4. Step 4

Find a website that allows you to send music clips to your phone. One such site, FunForMobile.com, allows you to upload your music onto the site.

  5. Step 5

Enter your phone information--your Sprint carrier and your phone number. Find and upload your clip and click "Submit" or "Enter." Your phone will receive a text message within minutes.

  6. Step 6

Click "Go" to access the FunForMobile.com site on your phone, and click "Download" for your ringtone. Once the ringtone is downloaded, it will be stored under Ringers and you have simply to assign it as a ringtone.
