    • 1

Make a lime cleanser to give your skin a radiant shine. Put a cup of plain yogurt in a bowl and add 2 tbsp. of honey or agave nectar. Pour in 1/2 cup of lime juice. Stir the ingredients by hand or mix with an electric mixer. If the mixture is not the consistency of pudding, add cornstarch by the half-teaspoonful until it thickens up.

    • 2

Make an exfoliating cleanser to eliminate dead skin cells. It will also help to reduce redness. Pour a half cup of lukewarm water into your bowl. Add two teaspoons of unflavored rolled oats and one teaspoon of baking soda. Mix with a spoon, adding more water if needed. You want the cleanser to be the consistency of paste.

    • 3

Make a skin-softening cleanser. Peel your cucumber, making sure to get all of the skin off. Then cut off the portion ¼ inch from each end. Put the remaining cucumber in the blender and run on its highest setting. Lay a piece of cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the liquefied cucumber into it. (This will allow you to eliminate the seeds.) Add ¾ cup whole milk to the bowl and stir.

Tips & Warnings

  • To use the lime cleanser, massage it on your face in a circular motion. To use the exfoliating cleanser, wet your hands and rub the cleanser over your face, concentrating on your T-zone. To use the skin-softening cleanser, pour 1/2 cup of it into your hands and splash it on your face.

  • Always rinse well with cold water after using these cleansers on your face. Pull your hair back before you start so you don't get any cleanser in it. The lime cleanser and skin-softening cleanser both need to be covered and refrigerated immediately if you don't plan on using them right away. Don't store any of these cleansers for more than seven days. They do not keep well. Stop using your cleanser if your face feels itchy or you develop a rash.
