Packing tape is an essential element when you are packing items for moving or storage. Durable packing tape is designed to hold together heavy boxes and can protect your belongings better than regular tape can. Using a packing tape dispenser will allow you to work faster and more efficiently. When you are packing a lot of items, be sure to have extra rolls of tape on hand so that you can refill the tape dispenser quickly. Reloading the dispenser is an easy task that you can complete in a few minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place the roll of tape so that it unwinds counter-clockwise over the dispenser reel.

  2. Step 2

Grasp the front tab of the tape roll and run it at a downward angle through slot between the dispenser roller and shield. Some tape dispensers have a shield that will pull down to allow tape to slide through. The sticky side of tape should be facing down.

  3. Step 3

Pull the front tab of the tape in an upward motion so that the dispenser blade cuts the tape. Be careful of the blades on the dispensers; it can cut through skin if you not careful.

  4. Step 4

Test the dispenser to make sure it is operating properly. Unroll a small amount of tape and cut it with the blade.

  5. Step 5

Tighten the tension adjuster on the dispenser to set the unwinding feature at a comfortable and smooth level.
