How to Make Rhinestone Flip-Flops
If you're like most women, you have old flip-flops in your closet. Don't throw them away. Instead, give them a new look and functionality with rhinestones. Wear your new, sparkly flip-flops to dressy-casual events as open-toe sandals. Slip them on with jeans to dress up your look. Wear them to the beach or a pool party with a cute, mini-dress cover-up. When it comes to rhinestones, your options are nearly limitless. Choose tiny, individual rhinestones, huge rhinestones in multiple colors or rhinestone-decorated letters and symbols in an array of colors.

1
Clean your flip-flops thoroughly. Even if they are new, this removes oils and dust that may prevent rhinestones from sticking. Use a mild spray cleanser. Scrub the flip-flops with a clean cloth and let them air dry.

2
Decide on a design for your flip-flops. Choose from putting your name or symbolic words on the straps, using tiny rhinestones and placing them in a swirling pattern, crowding the straps with larger stones or anything else you can think of. No design is wrong.

Lay out your rhinestones on a flat surface in the pattern you want on the straps. This will help you keep track of where you are in your design. Pick each rhinestone up, apply glue to the back with a narrow-tipped applicator and press it onto the straps. Use tweezers to apply tiny stones. Allow the glue to dry overnight.
