Draw Cars Step by Step for Kids

Kids love cars of all shapes and sizes. Often cars are the first toys that a child plays with. Drawing and coloring cars is a great way to get children excited about art. You can have them design their own color scheme and personalize their cars or hang the car drawings on the wall and come up with an elaborate story for them. Keep the shapes very simple so that they can let their imaginations run wild once the basic form is created.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a large rectangle in the middle of the page. Add a square on top of the rectangle. Make this square tilt to the right. The rectangle will be the body of the car and the square will be the roof.

    • 2

Draw the wheels with two circles at the bottom of the car. Draw the hubcaps with two small circles inside the center of the wheels. Add windows with two tilted rectangles inside the roof.

    • 3

Draw the door with two lines coming down from the windows. Add the front and back bumpers with small squares on the lower left corner and the lower right corner of the car.

    • 4

Erase the overlapping lines inside the tires, hubcaps and bumpers.

    • 5

Color the body of the car one solid color. For this example, color the body of the car blue. Color the tires black and the hubcaps and bumpers gray. Color the headlight yellow. You can add a background of rolling hills if you like or even a scenic ocean drive!
