How to Remove a Fake Virus Scan Message

If you are continually bothered by a fake virus scan message and can't get rid of it even after running Norton AntiVirus or other antivirus software here's what to do...

Instructions

1. First run a updated scan with Norton or comparable antivirus program. Most likely it will not find it, but run it anyway. The virus scan message is actually malware so an antivirus program may not pick it up.

2. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software. This is a reliable program that has worked for me in the past. You can download it for free by clicking on the link in the resources section.

3. If it still appears after both your anti-virus and anti-malware scans, run each scan one more time. Then shut your computer down properly and leave it off for at least a minute then start it back up. Give it all the time it needs to shut down and start up. Don't press any buttons at all.
