How to Remove the Window Login Screen in Windows XP
When using Microsoft Windows XP most people just turn on the computer and start working as soon as Windows loads. However if you have reinstalled Windows XP recently or you have several accounts set up, then you first come to a welcome screen where you must enter your password. Avoiding this step can easily be done in several ways but you must understand the consequences of booting right into Windows without the login screen.

Eliminate passwords and understand the limitations. If you eliminate the login screen you will either manually or virtually eliminate the security of logging in with a password. Having a password may stop the average person from logging into your account and looking at or deleting important files. This may be a 5-year-old who will accidentally mess up your files or have access to options that they shouldn't or it might be a teenager. Regardless, this is the purpose of the Windows login screen and removing it will remove a level of security.

Use only one account with no password. The simplest thing to do is to eliminate all but one user account and change the password to a blank password by not typing in anything when selecting a new password. This will automatically stop the login screen from appearing.

Change the settings. You can also remove the login screen by using the following commands. Go to the Start menu and chose Run. Type in "control userpasswords2." Uncheck the box that says, "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer." Click OK.

Use tweakUI. This is a program that is part of Microsoft's Power Toys download. This will let you have more options for the user interface than the default interface exposes.
