Step 1
Plug the George Foreman Grill in and turn it on. You will want to let the grill preheat for 5 to 10 minutes to get to an ideal grilling temperature.
-
Step 2
Season both sides of the meat that you are cooking before putting it on the grill. The meat cooks on both sides at once, so putting your spices on one side at a time won't work.
-
Step 3
Check to make sure the grease trap is attached to your George Foreman Grill. If you fail to have this in place, you will have a mess of hot grease on your counter as you use your George Foreman Grill.
-
Step 4
Place the meat on the grilling surface. Close the George Foreman Grill lid on top of the meat, and set the timer. Be careful not to overcook the meat. Unlike traditional charcoal and gas grills, the heat from the George Foreman Grill penetrates the meat from both surfaces instead of just one. This reduces cooking time.
-
Step 5
Check your meat when the timer goes off, or just before it is due to go off. If the meat is done, remove it from the grill. If not, increase the timer by two to five minutes. You can use a meat thermometer to check the temperature to determine if it is done.

Step 6
Unplug the George Foreman Grill and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes. If you have the George Foreman Grill with removable grilling plates, you can remove these and clean them in the sink and then place them in the dish washer for further cleaning if you wish.
If you have the older George Foreman Grill that does not have removable grilling plates, use the plastic scraping fork that comes with the grill to remove the dried on food items. Then take a damp cloth with soap and wipe down the grilling plates and then dry.
With both types of George Foreman Grills, remove the grease trap and either clean it in the sink or your dishwasher.
