How to Adjust Browser Font Size

All well-designed websites incorporates the text size defined in your browser. You can set the text to any size that is most convenient for you. This is very simple to do in all browsers. This article gives assistance for adjusting the font size on your browser. Scroll down the article list and find the browser you are using.

Keep in mind though, some websites/web pages will need manual font adjustment each time when you visit with your browser.

NOTE: for AOL browser users, see the Tips section at the end of this article.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC platform machine
  • MS Windows OS installed
  • Your browser
  • Internet access, optional
  • Article instruction
  1. Step 1
    Firefox browser
     
    Firefox browser

    Firefox; FF(any version)

    On the task bar:
    Select View > Text Size > (choose Increase, Decrease, Normal)

    Shortcuts:
    (1)Press and hold the CTRL and press + (the plus sign), to increase the text size. Press the + (plus sign) as many times as you want to get your desired text size.

    (2)Press and hold the CTRL and press 0 (zero), to make set to the normal text size.

    (3)Press & hold the CTRL and press - (the minus sign), to decrease the text size. Press the - (minus sign) as many times as you want to get your desired text size.

    On the task bar:
    Select View > Text Size (choose the font size Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller, Smallest)

    On the task bar:
    Select View > Make Text Bigger / Press and hold the CTRL, then press + (the plus sign)

    Select View > Make Text Normal Size / Press and hold the CTRL, then press 0 (zero)

    Select View > Make Text Smaller / Press and hold the CTRL, then press - (the minus sign)

    Shortcuts:
    (1)Press & hold the CTRL and press + (the plus sign), to make the text bigger.

    (2)Press and hold the CTRL and press 0 (zero), to set text to normal size.

    (3)Press and hold the CTRL and press - (the minus sign) to adjust to smaller text size.

  4. Step 4
    Netscape / Mozzila browser

    Netscape (any version)

    From the task bar:
    Select View > Text Zoom > (select Smaller, Larger)

    Select View > Text Zoom (%) - indicates text size in percentage. For example, (80%) means the text is set to eighty percent size. 100% is the default; original font size.

    Select View > Text Zoom > (choose a percentage you want for the displaying text)

    Shortcuts:
    (1)Press and hold the CTRL and press + (the plus sign), to increase the font size.

    (2)Press and hold the CTRL and press - (the minus sign, to decrease the font size.

    (3)Press and hold the CTRL and press 0 (zero), to return to the default; original font size.

    On the menu bar: Select Page > Select Text Zoom > Choose Larger, Smaller, or Normal as necessary.

    On the task bar:
    Select Tools > Preferences; or press Alt + P. Choose the tab Web Pages, then click the button next to "Normal Font". Select the font and size you want. Press OK or the Enter key.

Tips & Warnings
  • About America Online (AOL) browser; all versions: Since AOL browser is based on Internet Explorer, apparently we cannot directly adjust the text size in the AOL Browser. We need to open the Internet Explorer itself, then adjust the text size there. When finished, we will have to switch back to the AOL browser.

on 4/1/2009 Good instructions on how to adjust font size in a browser. I'm very techie challenged so this is good for me to follow.
