How to View Websites Offline
Sometimes you want to see and browse a website when you don't have Internet access, say when you are on the road with your laptop. Sure you can do 'file/save page as', but that won't save an entire website so none of the links will work.
This article will show you how to download and use a simple Firefox plug-in that can save an entire website for online viewing.

If you don't have Firefox yet, download it from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html
Install it and run it. Firefox is a powerful, fast and free web browser which is becoming ubiquitous on personal computers. -

Firefox Add-ons
Great, now that you are using Firefox, go to 'Tools/Add-ons'.
-
3
Scrapbook Add-on
In the textbox, type 'scrapbook' and press enter.
-
4
Scrapbook will show up as the first add-on for download. Click on the 'Add to Firefox' button. Follow the installation step. You will have to restart Firefox.
-
5
Scrapbook on Firefox Toolbar
After you restarted Firefox, Scrapbook will be on the Toolbar.

The 'Capture Page As...' Window
Click Scrapbook and a menu will drop down. You can click on 'Capture Page' for a quick capture of the current page, or 'Capture Page As...' for more options. The latter allows you to select the depth to follow links to capture and has many other options as well. The depth to follow links means how many 'clicks' the capture program will do on links starting from the main page you are capturing through other linked page. If you select a large number, you might end up with a good chunk of the Internet for your offline browsing pleasure. This can take a long time to capture and occupy more hard drive space.
Once you have captured a page, it will show up in the Scrapbook menu that also holds the 'Capture page' commands.
