Many people have discovered that a blog about their cat or photography hobby can not only entertain others, but also has the potential of earning money. If you own a blog and decide to begin writing sponsored blog posts for money, consider your audience and your sponsor to get the best response.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a blog that's regularly updated and older than 30 days.
  • a sponsor
  1. Step 1

Before you take a sponsor's offer, consider your audience. It's fine to take a sponsored blog post that has nothing to do with your blog's subject, as long as you get creative and work that subject in.

  2. Step 2

If your sponsor does not require disclosure, offer a site-wide disclosure on your blog, warning readers that some posts may be sponsored.

  3. Step 3

While it may be easy to whip out a sponsor's post, take your time when writing it. Make sure that it is something you would want to read had you stumbled on it reading someone else's blog.

  4. Step 4

Find a related element to your blog. If you own a blog about horses, but want to write a sponsored post about ladies shoes, it might be a stretch to relate it, but it can be done.

  5. Step 5

If you can't relate your post to your blog's primary topic, don't fight it. Just let your readers know that you are taking a little time to tell them about another one of your interests.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make all sponsored posts as compelling as your normal posts. Write in the same style and use the same kind of language to make it a smooth transition.
  • Keep up your rankings. Sponsors pay more to blogs that have higher Google, Alexa, and other types of internet site rankings.
  • Follow the sponsor's instructions exactly. If they don't want you to disclose this as a paid post, then don't. If you consistently follow directions, you may be able to set up a continual sponsorship.
