Grisoft AVG is a popular anti-virus program. Many users have found that running AVG alongside other applications causes their computers to run slowly. AVG is a notorious memory hog during startup, updates and scanning. Ubuntu users noticing this slowdown may want to remove Grisoft AVG from their systems. Unlike some applications, AVG comes complete with an uninstaller to make the removal process quick and simple. If you're upgrading to a new version of AVG, AVG will automatically uninstall the previous version.
