Clean up your diet. The first thing to do is get rid of all the junk food, fast food and high fat foods from your diet, including anything that is deep fried, highly processed, highly refined and high in saturated fat. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein, and drink plenty of water.

Do some cardio. Perform aerobic exercise three to four times a week for 45 to 60 minutes. It can be jogging, biking, swimming, rowing, stair stepping or anything you find enjoyable.

      Midpoint of a pushup

Do pushups. Working the chest muscles builds your chest, flattens your chest and also burn some calories because muscle is metabolically active. Lie down on your stomach. Place your hands next to your shoulders with your elbows bent. Keep your body straight as you push your body up in the air until your arms lock out. Now slowly lower yourself until you're just above the ground and repeat.

      Midpoint of a bench press

Do bench presses. Lie on a workout bench with the bar on the safety rack. Place your hands about just past shoulder width apart. Lift the bar and extend your arms over your body above your chest. Slowly lower the bar until it is about an inch above your chest. Lift it back up and do a series of reps.

      Medicine ball chest pass

Do chest passes. For this exercise, you might want to deploy the services of a partner. Stand facing each other. Hold a medicine ball with both hands right at chest level. Now forcefully throw the ball to your partner. Have them throw it back to you and repeat the passes back and forth.

See a plastic surgeon. You can get surgery to remove the tissue in an outpatient procedure. If the tissue is fat, liposuction can be done. If the tissue is firm, it will have to be excised and removed.

Make a doctor's appointment. Gynecomastia is a condition where there is an imbalance of estrogen and testosterone in the male body, which results in breast enlargement. Your doctor can prescribe a medication that can help balance out your hormone levels.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make push ups easier, start with your hands on a table, chair or box. Keep working your way down until you get to the floor. Another easier variation is starting with your knees on the floor. You can also do bench presses with dumbells either on a bench or on a Swiss Ball. Remember to breath properly when doing chest exercises. Inhale on the lowering portion and exhale on the exertion. For the medicine ball chest pass, if you don't have a partner, use a wall instead. Make sure it is a solid block wall like concrete or cinder block.

  • If you have never worked out before or have had a long layoff, get your doctor's consent before partaking in any strenuous physical activity.
