How to Make a Maze Puzzle
Children and adults enjoy maze puzzles. There is a starting and ending point with at least one trail that leads through the maze. The maze is filled with barriers and trick pathways. Maze puzzles can be based on a theme or holiday. If you can draw even simple shapes, you can make a maze puzzle for others to enjoy. If you are more artistic, you can make the maze in a series of line drawings with your theme in mind.
Instructions
-
-
1
Select a theme and a basic idea of the objects you want to draw for your maze puzzle.
-
2
Choose a basic shape such as a rectangle, square or circle for the outline of your puzzle. Use a rule or compass to make the shape.
-
-
3
Print the word "Start" at the beginning entrance of your maze puzzle. Print "Exit" at the end location.
-
4
Take a ruler and draw in the main pathway from start to finish.
-
5
Use the ruler to make straight lines for alternative pathways. Draw in short lines that bar the way to the maze ending.
-
6
Clean up the entire set of maze lines with an art eraser.
-
7
Make your maze more interesting by drawing a series of items over the lines that bar the way down the wrong pathways. For example, a floral puzzle theme will have drawings of roses, daisies, leaves and other small flowers which cut off the way through pathways on the maze puzzle.
-
8
Finish up the pencil drawings and look at the puzzle to make sure it is clear and concise. Go over all the pencil marks and drawings with the fine tip black ink pen.
-
9
Erase all pencil lines when you are positive that the ink is thoroughly dry.
