The Natural Bridge.
Hike up to Natural Bridge and stand above the world, 65 feet! The official Red River Gorge website calls it "probably the most visited arch in Kentucky" (of which there are 150 in Red River Gorge alone). Once you're on top of it, it's easy to see why. The trek isn't easy. Many stairs are involved. But it's one of the most satisfying attractions at the Red River Gorge.

Other geological formations to check out while you're at the Gorge: Chimney Top, Double Arch, Creation Falls, Rock Bridge, Pinch 'Em Tight. The list goes on and on. Lots of nature photography opportunities.

Head on over to Miguel's Pizza for dinner or lunch. Not far from the interstate, Miguel's Pizza has been serving the faithful KY rock climbing contingent for years. The food is delicious and the location is convenient. If you are a climber, you can pitch a tent right in Miguel's backyard for cheap.

The Kentucky River Gorge boasts hundreds of miles of trails. Below, I've linked to a website with maps of the trails, so you can be prepared for your Red River Gorge hiking adventures.
Tips & Warnings
If you plan on staying overnight in the area, you will need a parking pass. A 3-day pass can be picked up at the Shell gas station located right off the interstate in Slade, Kentucky.
Please be careful at the Gorge. The Red River Gorge is a canyon system, which means there are plenty of cliffs and dangerous drops to be wary of. When camping, become familiar with your campsite before it gets dark. Stay on the trails, or consult professionals and guides when venturing out on your own into the wilderness.
