How to Prevent Body Odor

Body odor can put a serious hamper on dating. Let's go ahead and stop the problem before it starts and learn some tricks for dealing with it when it arises .

Instructions

    • 1

Shower. Pay attention to areas that tend to smell (especially the arm-pits). Wash, rinse and then repeat again, because the first wash will not remove all the oils and funk off of your body.

    • 2

Do not forget to wash your hair!

    • 3

Use deodorant. Avoid aerosol deodorants as they can be overwhelming and offensive to olfactory nerves.

    • 4

Apply a subtle cologne or perfume. There are several great scents out there that are not overwhelming. Sniff around and find one you like!

    • 5

If it is an emergency, see if you can change your clothes. A lot of the sweat and funk is in the clothes.

    • 6

Also in an emergency you can apply a wet napkin or paper towel to the offensive area. Be sure to dry. If you can, carry some deodorant or body splash in your coat or purse. Apply in an inconspicuous area (i.e. bathroom).

Tips & Warnings

  • Carry something inconspicuous that can improve your scent in a coat or purse.

  • Too much cologne/perfume or a strong deodorant can be overwhelming and may offend just as much as body odor.
