How to Connect to a Wi-Fi Hot Spot
Many Wi-Fi hot spots are free, while others charge a nominal fee. Whether you're at a coffee shop or an Internet cafe, it is very easy to connect to a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Locate the "Connect or disconnect network and sharing center" on your laptop. This may be a simple icon in the bottom right of your task bar or may be in the network section of your main menu.

Scan for for the local network in that location. After your computer has located it, click on the applicable location. You will be connected to a Welcome page.

Enter a password, if requested. The network your computer has connected to may be free or may charge you a nominal fee for full Internet access. You will provided with purchasing options that may include an hourly, weekly and annual rate.
When you return home to your own local network, your computer will automatically search for your original network and connect on its own. You will be given the choice to save your remote network location for your next visit to that hot spot location.

Tips & Warnings
Keep track of the service you are connecting to and the amount of time connected so that you can verify your credit card charges.
Be aware that some of these remote hot spots aren't as well protected as your local home wireless network.
