Wax is a heated, sticky substance that is sometimes made of sugar or honey that is used to remove body hair. Both women and men can opt to have their eyebrows waxed. You can purchase an at-home wax kit at your local drugstore or get your eyebrows waxed professionally.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wax Wooden or plastic stick Thin fabric strips Wooden dowel Tweezers
  1. Step 1

Heat the wax. The wax can be heated in a microwave or over the stove. Be very careful that the wax doesn't get too hot. Test the wax on the back of your hand or your wrist before using it on your face.

  2. Step 2

Apply the wax in a dainty, rounded motion just underneath the natural arch of your eyebrow. Use a wooden dowel to press the wax into place for extra precision.

  3. Step 3

Apply a clean fabric strip over the wax. Press over the top of the fabric gently and rub back and forth 10 times.

  4. Step 4

Pull the fabric strip in the opposite direction of the eyebrow growth as quickly as possible. Hold the skin around the eyebrows taut as you pull.

  5. Step 5

Remove excess hair under the arch with tweezers. Use a magnifying mirror to aid hair removal.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take a shower and wash your face before waxing and allow the hair follicles to loosen.
  • If you experience swelling after waxing your eyebrows, apply an aloe vera gel to your face and take an antihistamine like Benadryl.
