Things You'll Need:
- Clippers Adjusters Small brush Cloth or towel Lubrication oil Screwdriver

Step 1
Remove any excess hair. You will need to remove any hair that might be covering the outside of your clippers before you begin. Start by laying out a towel or a cloth and use a small brush to swipe away any hairs that you see on the outside of the clipper case. Some clipper sets come with a cleaning brush. Once the outside is cleaned off, use a small screwdriver to unscrew the blade cover from the base. Make sure that the clippers are not plugged in. Use the small brush to brush out hairs that are trapped or lodged inside the base and from around the blade and cover.
-
Step 2
Lightly oil the gears. Using a lubricating oil spray, very lightly oil any gears or movable parts inside the casing and cover. Only a little oil is needed. Oiling the parts will ensure that the clippers will work smoothly and will prevent them from developing rust or other damage. Make sure that you do not add too much oil or it will drip out during your next use. Just a light spray should do the trick.
-
Step 3
Replace the cover. Using your screwdriver, replace the blade cover back onto the base and secure it tightly. Wipe off any remaining oil or hair with your towel or cloth. If your screwdriver became covered in oil or hair, wipe it off as well before returning it to its original location.

Step 4
Clean the adjusters. Using your small brush, clean off all of your adjusters. Get all of the hair out from between the notches and ridges. If your adjusters look like they have any debris or dirt lodged in them, give them a quick rinse in some warm, soapy water. Then dry them on your towel or cloth. When all of the parts are clean, oiled and hair-free, return them to their storage case for their next hair cutting session.
