How to Make Flea Repellent for Cats
There is nothing worse than a cat with fleas, because if you don't get rid of the little critters, you and your bedding, soft furniture, kids, carpet and other pets will also get fleas. Fortunately, there is a cheap, effective and holistic way to keep the fleas off your cat in the first place. - Spray bottle 2 cups of hot water Fresh or dried rosemary Fresh or dried sage Fresh or dried peppermint Bowl Strainer

Choose your herbs. Rosemary, sage and peppermint are all effective flea-repelling herbs, so it is up to you how you want your cat to smell. Rosemary has the added benefit of being an excellent fur conditioner, so if your cat also has dandruff, rosemary might be your best choice. Whichever herb you choose, fresh or dry will work.

Boil some water. Boil 2 cups of water, add the herbs, and remove from heat. If you are using dried herbs, add about 2 tbsp. full to the water. If you are using fresh herbs, only use 1 tbso. Allow the herbs to steep in the water until cool. You may enclose the herbs in a tea strainer, if you wish, which will eliminate the need to strain the loose herbs from the mixture before you pour it into the spray bottles.

Spray your cat. You might want to start by brushing your kitty, or giving him a treat, anything to make sure that he is calm before the spraying begins. Gently spritz his fur with the herbal infusion, and rub it in thoroughly.

Don't forget to spray your cat's favorite perch, bedding, your carpet, and anywhere else that you have seen fleas, so they don't come back.
