How to Download the Newest Version of Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is the most popular program for Internet surfing on PC systems. Its integration into Microsoft Windows means that many users often have reason to download and install the latest version of the browser.

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. Alternately, you can click the Start button, click "All Programs," and then locate your Internet Explorer icon in the sub-menus (computer setups vary).

2. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools," then click "Windows Update."

3. The Microsoft Windows Update page will appear and automatically start a self-check for system updates.

4. The site will now offer to download and install all critical updates for Windows, including Internet Explorer. Click "Express."

5. Windows will now begin the download and install process. While it does, be sure to close any other programs you may have open.

6. When the process is complete, Windows may ask to restart your computer. If it does, click "Restart Now."
