How to Heal Acne With Probiotics

There are many acne medications and topical creams available, but what do you do when your acne is resistant to these treatments? Sometimes acne can be caused by the Candida bacteria, making treatment difficult. Candida overgrowth can result in acne breakouts caused by the disruption of the flora in the intestinal tract. One of the best ways to heal this problem is to use probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that work to help our bodies utilize nutrients and eliminate waste and toxins. By replenishing the good bacteria from probiotics into the intestinal tract, we are helping our bodies function properly. The most important probiotics, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidus, can significantly improve a person's health and skin clarity.

Things You'll Need

  • Refrigerated probiotics
  • Natural soap
  • Baking soda

Eliminate sugar from your diet. Sugar increases Candida bacteria in your system, which is exactly what you do not want. Try to avoid eating candy, cookies, white flour products and overly sweet fruit.

Start taking probiotics. You can find probiotics at any health foods store in the refrigerated section. Take the probiotics as instructed on the bottle, usually one or two times per day. You should take probiotics on an empty stomach for maximum benefits.

Switch to a natural soap. Try to find a soap that is free of coloring, perfumes and preservatives. A natural soap will contain natural ingredients that will not disrupt the oils of the skin. You can even try your hand at making your own natural soap.

Use a baking soda wash. Fill your sink with warm water and add about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the water. After you have washed your face with natural soap, splash the baking soda over your skin as a toner. Then, pat your face dry with a clean towel. Baking soda kills the Candida bacteria that attacks your system and your skin.
