How to Format a Sony DSC P10 Memory Card

When you get a Sony DSC P10, you have the option to save extra pictures on a Sony Memory Stick. In order to prepare this extra memory card for picture storage, you will need to format it. Unlike Micro SD cards that can usually be formatted with your computer, you will need to format your Memory Stick while it is in your Sony DSC P10 camera. The steps needed to do this are simple, and it will only take a few minutes before it will be ready for use.

Things You'll Need:

  • Sony DSC P10 Cyber Shot digital camera Sony Memory Stick
  1. Step 1

    Insert the Memory Stick into the side of the camera.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the dial at the top of the camera to "Set Up."

  3. Step 3

    Turn the camera's power on.

  4. Step 4

    Choose the Memory Stick Tool option from the main menu using the up and down arrows on the control button.

  5. Step 5

    Select "Format" from the Memory Stick Tool menu by pressing the right arrow. Then press the right arrow button a second time to bring up the confirmation menu.

  6. Step 6

    Choose "OK" by pressing the up arrow. The camera will now format your Memory Stick. When it is finished, you will be ready to use your Memory Stick.
